About Blueface
Johnathan Michael Porter, popularly known as Blueface, started his rapping journey in early 2017 under the name Blueface Bleedem. Born on 20Th January 1997, this rapper grew up in Mid-City of Los Angeles. He settled down at Oakland, where he played college football. So also, the video remix of “Thotiana” refers to his past experiences as a footballer. Porter took to rap music at a very young age, and he was mainly influenced by 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and The Game. The name in itself has reference to the School of yard Crips street gang. The first song “Dead Locs” was launched in collaboration with the Laudiano Music Studio onto Sound Cloud, the famous European online music streaming website.
The Rap Journey And Milestones
His first full-length project ‘Famous Cryp’ was released in June 2018 and was quite a success. This album also features a guest appearance by fellow West Coast rapper Joey Franko. Following the release of this song, he earned a local fan base in California. The year 2018 also saw his second EP “Two Coccy” on Soundcloud and Spotify.
Respect My Crypn was the first song to debut on YouTube through WorldstarHipHop’s channel. This song becomes a viral meme after it was posted on Twitter. Songs such as Thotiana and Next Big Thing have crossed record viewing on YouTube. He is also quite popular on social media such as Instagram with a steady increase number of followers.
Bleed it is yet another song that went viral in December 2018 and garnered 2 million views in the first 24 hours its release. Remix video Thotiana also featured on the Billboard 100, making it the first song to make it to the Billboard chart. The year 2019 saw the release of the music video of his single “Stop Cappin,” which also happens to have entered the more than 5 millon views club.
